Jenica was born in San Francisco and raised in Redwood City, California. She is a fourth generation Californian and has spent most of her life in Northen California. She is also the daughter of a prominent and well-respected civil attorney, Susan Popik.

A second-generation lawyer, Jenica embodies what it means to be an advocate —she is fearless, trustworthy, loyal, empathetic, tenacious, and sometimes hilarious.

Jenica spent the first 15 years of her career as a Deputy District Attorney for the County of Sonoma. As a Prosecutor, Jenica honed her advocacy skills, appearing in court daily to square off against the best and brightest defense attorneys in Sonoma County. Her time as a Prosecutor gave Jenica a deep understanding about people, their circumstances, and the realities of the Criminal Justice system. It also deeply affected her.

Now in private practice, Jenica hopes to empower each of her clients. Jenica’s vast experience inside the criminal justice system as well as within the recovery community will impact each of her clients and their family as they find their way out of “the system” and on a path towards self-fulfillment and confidence.
